Equity Bank Woos Investors to Bet on Uganda

KAMPALA: Equity Bank Uganda is leading a fresh push to attract foreign direct investment into Uganda as part of the ongoing Uganda Trade and Investment Roadshow 2026.

On the sidelines of the roadshow organized by Equity Bank Uganda, the lender has taken visiting delegations on field visits to showcase bankable investment opportunities in coffee production, processing and value addition.

Irene Irungu, Senior Manager for Trade Relations at Equity Group, said discussions have centered on financing models, investment opportunities and boosting production for export.

"The conversations are around financing, investment and production – linking investors to real opportunities on the ground," Irungu said.

The Roadshow has brought together businesses from Kenya, Poland, France, Uganda and Tanzania to explore trade, investment and cross-border partnerships.

Currently, the delegations are touring local manufacturing hubs to appreciate Uganda's industrial capacity. Among the facilities visited is RZ Innovations, manufacturers of automobile tyres and packaging materials for foods and beverages.

The team is also visiting Roofings Group at Namanve Industrial Park, one of Uganda's largest steel and manufacturing complexes.

The roadshow is part of Equity Group's broader strategy to facilitate intra-African trade and position Uganda as a competitive investment destination for European and regional investors.
