2023 Africa's Best Brands recognized at the Brand Africa Award in Kampala

Most admired company brands in Uganda and Africa have been awarded at a glamorous event held in Kampala to recognize and acknowledge their endless efforts at maintaining the quality of their brands.

The event was officiated by Hon David Bahati Minister of State minister for Trade, Industry, and Cooperative  held at Golden Tulip on Tuesday 11th July 2023.

The minister during the function said that “Such a noble activity will foster innovation, technology & boost confidence in our indigenous goods & service, create more wealth & jobs”

He acknowledged the government’s efforts in ensuring peace, safety, and an enabling environment for the growth and advancement of brands in Uganda.

“Innovation and technology are vital for the future of African business. I firmly believe that promoting brands means promoting jobs, wealth, and innovation, but most importantly, it builds confidence and trust in the products we produce as a continent,” he said.

He applauded the organizers of the Brand Africa initiative for their commendable work in recognizing and promoting Ugandan and African brands.

The Corporate Relations, Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs Manager at Uganda Breweries Ltd, Jackie Tahakanizibwa after receiving the Most Admired Brand in Uganda expressed deep gratitude for the recognition and attributed the win to the trust cultivated among consumers over the years.

“We are truly honored as Guinness to be recognized by our consumers as their most admired alcoholic brand. We value the trust that we have built through our commitment to quality and innovation, including initiatives such as the Guinness Bright House. We do not take this recognition for granted,” she said

Another award winner Nile Breweries said in a statement that “We are thrilled to announce that Nile Special, our flagship brand, has been recognized as the "Most Admired Brand - Alcoholic Beverages" and as one of the "Top 10 Brands Doing Good for People, Society, and the Environment at Africa's Best Brands Awards!”

Centenary Bank also received the Most Admired Ugandan Financial Service award at the Africa Best Brands Awards 2023. For their strong presence throughout Uganda.

“Our bank is committed to enhancing financial services accessibility and convenience not only within the country but also beyond. As we celebrate 40 years, we will further expand our impact in the realm of finance” partly reads the statement

Other award winners included The Executive Director African Institute for Investigative Journalism Solomon Serwanja with the Africa Brand Leadership Excellence Award under the media category as the media personality of the year, NBS TV for being the most admired Ugandan media brand, and also being recognized among Uganda's Top 10 Brands, included  MTN, Coca-Cola, and Mukwano among others.

The Brand Africa Awards have been in recognizing the best 100 companies since 10 years ago by recognizing, appreciating, and awarding the best companies across Africa, in a bid to acknowledge their endless efforts at maintaining the quality of their brands. This according to the organizers has stirred brand consciousness among company owners causing them to improve the quality of their brands
