Greenlight Islamic School secured a 3-1 victory against London College in the final of USSSA Nasana Zone at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, Wakiso.
Greenlight’s victory was double joy as it also brought to an end London College’s dominance in Nasana Zone.
It was a dream start for Greenlight as Sudais Kayiira guided the ball into his net inside the first minute of the game.
Henry Junior Egesa doubled Greenlight’s lead with a powerful header off Maurice Okello’s corner kick after 20 minutes.
The provider Okello turned into goal scorer, extending Greenlight’s lead to three in the 54th minute of the duel.
In the added time of the game, Bin Mousa Akram pulled one back for London College but it was like a drop of water in an ocean having no impact on the game.
The victory pulled the handbrake on London College’s reign having been on the top of the zone for five consecutive years.
For the girls, Alliance High School registered a 7-0 victory against St George SS in the zone’s final.
Flavia Mirembe, Doreen Kobusigye and Patricia Agwete scored a goal each while Mary Katusiime scored four as Alliance thrashed St George.
