Uganda Airlines extends New Destinations to Harare, Abuja and Lusaka

Uganda Airlines has announced its expanded network with the addition of three more destinations to Harare, Abuja, and Lusaka commencing operations on September 12, 2024, and by September 25, 2024, the routes to Lusaka and Harare will be inaugurated, making it to 16 routes since the last five years when the airlines started operations.

CEO of Uganda Airlines, Jennifer Bamuturaki  said “This triple launch represents our commitment to building an efficient and optimized regional market. By entering these new markets, we aim to grow our aircraft fleet utilization, create a robust regional network, and support our long-haul market, particularly routes to London, Bombay, Guangzhou, and Dubai”

During a media engagement in Kampala on Wednesday, she added that “Launching these routes marks the successful conclusion of our three-year strategic plan and paves the way for the next phase of our ten-year rolling plan. This strategic approach ensures that our expansion is not just a leap of faith but a well-thought-out progression.”

According to Uganda Airlines, The new routes align with Uganda Airlines’ vision to bridge geographical gaps and enhance connectivity across Africa.

“Our aspiration is to connect the East to the West, North, and South of Africa. This vision guides our route expansion, which is carefully informed by feasibility studies identifying underserved routes,” she said

Uganda Airlines has recently demonstratedby increase in the frequency of our flight to now now operating 19 flights a day, contributing to 20% traffic at Entebbe Airport this accodring the airline has enhanced revenue growth, cargo operations acceleration, and service scale.

The total number of destinations operated by Uganda Airlines has increased to 16, including Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salam, Bujumbura, Johannesburg, Dubai, Zanzibar, Lagos, Kinshasa, Mumbai, Mogadishu, Juba, and Kilimanjaro.
