Simba Telecom inks partnership with MiOne to unveil new products to Uganda market

Simba Telecom a subsidiary of The Simba Group and lead distribution partner for MTN has partnered with MiOne to launch its new products including smartwatches, phones, tablets, accessories among others

During the launch at Simba Telecom headquarters on Kampala Road, Dr. Patrick Bitature, Chairman of Simba Group, said these are among the affordable products manufactured in Uganda and appealed to the government to encourage development investments to improve Ugandan skills.

“They are manufactured from the factory in Mbale and we are very happy to partner with our brothers from China who under MiOne have made huge investments in Uganda. The time has come when manufacturers will come to Uganda and make more phone accessories from Uganda,” he said

He said that with enhanced investment in Ugandan’s skills development, will go a long way in addressing the gaps in youth employment.

 “Training Ugandans here and selling these phones in Uganda is a big important part and I am glad to be part of this process. We have so many young Ugandans who are trainable and quick to learn on the job” he said

The General Manager, MiOne, Andy Chow said its various new MiOne phones and Black Arch TV products are quality and affordable devices that improve the range that Simba Telecom has to offer at its shops. Chow said MiOne offers affordable products in Rwanda, Sudan, and DRC Congo.

The company recently announced its plans to invest in reaching wider geographical zones through more human resources  which they say will cover key markets and is focusing on removing barriers to the acquisition of quality mobile devices and convenient access to MTN airtime under the retail enhancement program which complements network expansion efforts by MTN
