Kampala Water’s partnership with Rotary Club Kitante to ensure safe, affordable water in Kamwokya.

Through water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs, the Rotary club mobilize resources, form partnerships, and invest in infrastructure and training that yield long-term change.

The Rotary Club of Kitante are set to collaborate with other partners to provide safe water in Kamwokya, Kampala.

During a meeting held recently, The Rotary Club of Kitante, Kampala under the leadership of Dr. Sarah Bimbona, Kampala Water’s (KW) Management Senior Manager Central Support- Serumaga Deogratius, Urban Pro-Poor Manager  Siragi Bassajja and Sub-Branch Manager Kamwokya-Ms Grace Chloe Namukwaya agreed to form a partnership aimed at ensuring safe and affordable water in areas of Mulimira zone, church zone, and Kifumbira under Kamwokya Sub-branch.

This move by the Rotary club happens to be one of its many philanthropic milestones within Kamwokya to improve essential services in the suburb from building health facilities, to providing scholastic materials to children in school, among others.

The Central Support Unit Senior Manager Serumaga Deogratius applauded the partnership idea and further explained the tariff structure and its significance to the people in that community.

He encouraged the Rotary Club of Kitante to sign an MOU with National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) in regards to the matter, in order to strengthen the partnership.

The club looks forward to working with NWSC, to ensure that all people in the Kamwokya area have access to clean and affordable water.
