Illness-stricken singer Daudi Mugema travels to Turkey for cancer treatment

Positive news reaching our desk reveals ailing singer Daudi Mugema who is battling cancer is now in President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s land, Istanbul, Turkey for specialized treatment.

The “Katonda Wabanaku” singer traveled to Turkey a few days ago after securing travel documents for specialized treatment, thanks to Kampala Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago, and Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E FATIH AK who helped him secure the required documents.

Daudi Mugema traveled to seek specialized cancer treatment that he has been battling for a period that is close to four years.

Speaking to TV interviews, Daudi Mugema explained that he contracted cancer during a time when he had been imprisoned at a safe house in Kireka and was told to dip his legs in a basin that contained chemicals that damaged his legs, leaving him helpless and unable to work again.

He further explained that he was tortured in different severe ways that included being burnt with plastic jerricans and other torture methods he did not mention.

Having touched base in Turkey, Daudi Mugema smiled as he expressed relief and was excited that he was scheduled to receive the specialized treatment he had longed to get.

He also expressed gratitude to all his friends who stood in solidarity with him as he sought financial help during the trying moment he was facing.
