Govt Commends Sri Sathya Sai for offering free medical services to 500 patients

 The NRM government’s desire to engage more friends to come and invest here as well as offering strategic charitable services has earned it accolades.

 A total of 520 residents of the Kampala Metropolitan area have benefitted from a free medical camp with both technical and logistical support from such friends who say Uganda was a welcoming country.

 Such friends include the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization currently operating in 114 countries is a popular and appreciated global Humanitarian and Spiritual body which spearheaded the campaign of offering free medical treatment services to over 520 patients.

  The body with Uganda country headquarters located in Old Mulago off Mawanda road Kawempe division managed to airlift a team of over 26 highly specialized medical professionals alongside 16 Health workers drawn from the United States, the UK , Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Botswana, South Africa and Uganda among others.

 The specialized medical services offered to the visibly excited patients aged between 2 years and over 60 years included Dental, Eye, Consultation for Cardiology, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Physiotherapy and Medication with diagnostic tests among others.

  The organization’s Africa zone boss P.V Sambasiva Rao revealed that they appreciate the support offered by the government especially the ministry of Health and Mulago National Referral Hospital among other stakeholders like security bodies and professional entities

. "We would like to appreciate the support offered to us by the Ministry of Health, Mulago National Referral Hospital, KCCA alongside security agencies for the guidance and technical support which enabled us to reach out to the community," noted Mr. Rao.

 Suresh Babu, the National Council President said their main objective in Uganda was to serve the needy, extend free education services to vulnerable children, healthcare and community services among others. He also pointed out that during the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak they managed to buy over 240 tons of food directly from local farmers among rural communities across the country and donated to few African countries.

  Ravi Kishore the treasurer revealed that they managed to set up the Sai School Uganda which is a primary school with over 280 pupils located in Mawoito parish, Buwenge sub-county, Jinja district.

 The team collectively pledged to build strong future collaborations with both the Ministry of health and the local professional medical bodies such as the Uganda Medical Association (UMA) which the main umbrella body is bringing together all professional medical players in the country.

  They revealed that their next destination of Medical services delivery program would be in Kenya and Tanzania with a strategic target mission of covering over 8,000 patients within the East African community region.
