Former actress Nakawunde opens up about challenges of playing controversial roles

Harriet Nalubwama alias Nakawunde, a former ‘The Ebonies’ actress turned nurse, opened up about some of the challenges she faced during her acting career.
While narrating her ordeal, she disclosed that one time she got slapped by a lady in the taxi park because of a character she executed in one of the drama series she featured in.
She explains that some individuals take the roles actors and actresses execute in drama series too personally and end up getting negative thoughts about the people involved.

She adds that despite the few challenging moments, she enjoyed the acting career until she hung up her gloves to venture into a different profession – nursing.
“Sometimes, people take these drama roles a bit too personally. I once got slapped by a lady at the taxi park all because of a character I played! But beyond moments like that, it’s been an incredible journey.” Nakawunde.
Nakawunde also talked about the struggles she faced when she relocated the overseas, stressing that it wasn’t easy for her as she spent over a year staying indoors as she adjusted to a new reality.
Living and staying abroad wasn’t easy, but ‘my why’ kept me going. The transition was tough. I spent over a year mostly indoors, adjusting to a new reality
