Equity Bank’s Uganda boosts the 2023 League of East African Directors convention with UGX 5 Million

League of East African Directors (LEAD) is an organization that Identifies, Recruit and Train Directors and Board of Directors for the Advancement of East African Businesses through Effective Leadership.
The member has organized the LEAD Convention 2023 slated to take place on 27th July 2023 in Kampala to deliberate on governance and business issues in the region.
Equity Bank has partnered with the institute in the organization of the forthcoming convention by injecting financial resources to the tune of UGX 5 Million.
During the media launch of the 2023 LEAD convention held on Friday 27th July 2023, The Head of Finance Equity Bank Kezia Asiimwe announced that the bank will be part of the convention, under the theme: "Governance and Business Resilience in a Dynamic Regulatory Landscape”
While giving her remarks Kezia applauded the institute for their foresight in building a governance institution for Uganda and the entire region.
She encouraged anyone aspiring to be a part of a board in the future to attend the convention, as it will provide learning and networking opportunities with different board members from across the region.
LEAD was formed after realizing that companies in need of directors did not have any consolidated reference point and tended to rely on personal references to make board-level appointments.
LEAD was established to identify potential directors, create a database of such individuals, develop those that needed development, make those resources available to the market, and assist with board training and development among others.
