Businessman Bulwadda Donates Land To Evicted Victims in Kikandwa Sub-County.
Following the action of The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) in a series of evictions in the Lubigi Wetland in Kampala, many residents became homeless leading to mass outcry from the residents.
The residents who were evicted from the Lubigi Swamp have found solace and hope from the donations of land from Businessman and Property Mogul Hajji Hassan Bulwadda, the owner of Bulwadda Properties, who was applauded by the residents as a solution of the situation to the situation they were in as they received 5 Acres of land in Nana-Bulwadda Village, Wattuba ParishKikandwa Sub County in Mityana District,
The Businessman gave out conditions to the new residents to maintains the land as residential, prohibiting the establishment of worship centers and schools.
“Beneficiaries will receive free construction materials and full ownership of the land through a written agreement. Just like Lubigi, no person should be buried on that estate,” he said.
The visiting team, led by Nansana Resident Division Commissioner (RDC) Shaffic Ali Nsubuga, included Nansana West II A chairperson Dickson Mayiga, applauded Haj. Hassan for the generous offer.
“I urge the beneficiaries to put into appropriate use the land that they have acquired and comply with the guidance given by the donor,” Chairman Mayiga said.
Hajji Hassan Bulwadda's donation includes land situated along Hoima Road and in Busunju, providing a lifeline for the displaced families to rebuild their lives. This act of philanthropy marks a significant step in addressing the humanitarian and environmental challenges posed by the illegal occupation of Lubigi Wetland.
