Samyang Foods, which is a South Korean food company introduced buldak noodles in 2012. In Korean language, buldak literally means fire chicken because these noodles are hot and savory at the same time. The reason for this particular dish was that there was an alarming increase in demand of hot foods in Korea; hence, it became popular among both locals and foreigners.

What then constitutes the spiciness of Buldak Noodles? The sauce is the secret behind it because it consists of gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) and gochujang (Korean chili paste).
