URA Spokesperson Ibrahim Bbosa commends Ipsos ReportS in tax mobilization as NAMS 2023 is launched.
Ipsos Uganda has officially launched the 2023 Uganda National Audience Measurement Survey 2023 to provide information on audience habits which according to Ipsos will enhance solutions that set the global benchmark for understanding media audiences and support the making of informed decisions.
The official that was held on Tuesday 13th June 2023 at Fairway Hotel was attended by media owners, telecoms companies, and advertising agencies among others while the team from Ipsos was led by Nick Coates Regional CEO of Ipsos SSA, Virginia Nkwanzi Country Director Ipsos Uganda, Nanzala Mwaura Chief Growth Officer Ipsos SSA.
The Chief Guest was The Spokesperson of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) and Assistant Commissioner of Public and Corporate Affairs Ibrahim Bbosa.

While giving The Keynote Speech, The Spokesperson of URA applauded the relevance of Ipsos reports availed to URA which he said has supported tax mobilization and Public Relations initiatives that the tax body undertakes with taxpayers in Uganda.
He said as a user of the report Ipsos Uganda, the tax body has been supported to understand the media landscape, to know how media is using the content provided for public consumption.
“To maintain public trust, it’s important to know what people say about tax assessment, collection. It’s important to know what’s happening to plan better respond and check the direction to enhance the culture of voluntary tax paying” he said
He added that URA has embarked on a training program for taxpayers and the media to enable the journalist to receive factual information to address visibility and tax compliance. He added that URA has been implementing measures to address the integrity of the staff over the years which he said has gone ahead to minimize corruption tendencies.

She said while working with the media in Uganda, she has achieved a lot in building solutions that have set the global benchmark for understanding audiences, currently and for the future generation.
She added that the survey support media houses in understanding their positioning in the market, competitor performance, and sharing of audiences which she said improves programming and rate card structuring.
