The Federation of Uganda Employers unveils an online member service portal at 45th AGM

The Federation of Uganda Employers (FUE) held its 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) with members, partners, and well-wishers from various sectors and regions to share updates and achievements attained in 2023 with their support which according to FUE was successful.

During the AGM held on Wednesday 28th March 2024 at the Africana Hotel in Kampala, the member organization also launched the FUE Online Member Services Portal that will according to FUE “will be a self-service platform for Employers to access information, tools and resources on aspects of Human Resources, Employment Relations, Compliance, Occupational Safety & Health (OSH)”

While officiating the AGM the Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development Hon. Betty Amongi highlighted that the tripartite partners and private sector collaborate to promote decent work and productive employment.

She urged employers to maintain social security compliance and promote health & safety at the workplace.

The FUE Board Chairperson, Eng. Dr. Silver Mugisha appreciated FUE members and partners for their support and commitment to the Federation.

He applauded companies for their resilience despite the challenges in the labour market.

Eng. Silver Mugisha Managing Director, National Water and Sewerage Cooperation was re-elected The FUE Board Chairperson last year during the 44th Annual General Meeting held at Hotel Africana in Kampala on Friday, March 24, 2023.

The CEO of FUE Mr. Douglas Opio, in his speech, expressed that 2023 presented various opportunities for advocacy that led to the launch of the Labour Advisory Board to provide advisory services to the Minister of Gender, Labour & Social Development on the world of work issues.

The Federation was registered on 18th August 1960 under the name of Society of Employers and it was changed to Federation of Uganda Employers on 17th August 1961 under the Trustees Incorporation Act 1939.

FUE is the Voice of Employers on social and economic issues and is recognized both locally and internationally
