A cross-section of both old students of Namilyango College and the parents' fraternity have welcomed the good performance of their UCE stars of 2023 saying they should remain focused and maintain that high degree of both moral and academic discipline for a better future.

The remarks have been made in reaction to the release of the 2023 UCE results by the first lady and minister of education and sports Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni last week in Kampala called for hard work among the former UCE candidates as they prepare to enroll for S.5 term one which is slated to open early next month.

The college which had registered a total of 230 UCE candidates for 2023 was able to bring home 224 Div.1 with  05 Div 2 and one absent securing a comfortable pass mark of 97.8% respectively according to the college deputy headmaster in charge of academics Rubongoya Charles Drake.

Rubongoya pointed out that they had six boys who scored 8 in 8 including Turyahikayo Maurice, Okalebo Ivan, and Asiimwe Hannigton.

Others are Kiplimo Kennedy Josphat, Kawuki  Axam Rahman and  Arikosi Timothy Ogwang respectively.

He observed that despite the new results showing a minimal decline in number of registered candidates for 2023 standing at 230, as opposed to 273 in 2022, a clear improvement in general performance was registered as they had a total of 273 candidates who brought home 237 Div 1 and 36 in Div 2 with three boys scoring 8 in 8 respectively.

The parents’ fraternity who thronged the college to celebrate success visibly congratulated the teachers for their relentless efforts which resulted into this good performance with many saying the college had stood time in bringing joy to its stakeholders each passing year by putting up a variety of performance in several sectors including sports, debate, ICT and academics among others.
