Minister Nabakooba launches public portal to enable instant access to lands information
As part of government initiatives to implement article 41 of the constitution which provides for access of information, and bringing new innovations using information technology, the Minister of lands, housing and urban development Judith Nabakooba has launched a digital public portal to ease access to information, bringing lands services closer to the people and transforming service delivery.
The Minister, during the launch of the public portal on 9th March 2022 at the Media Center, said that the digital platform will provide an instant search for land titles and results on the status o land transactions.
“The purpose of the land portal is to provide the citizen with the instant search for land titles. The portal will also provide instant results on the status of land transactions and verification of parcel details” she said
Nakakooba added that access of using the land portal in picture above will begin with Kampala Capital City authority , Ministry Zonal Offices (KCCA MZO), which covers mailo, freehold, and Leasehold in Kibuga and parts of Kyaddondo saying that other MZOs will be added by end of June 2022 in a phased manner.
“As mentioned, the public portal will provide access to land information in KCCA MZO. The other 22 MZOs will be added in a phased manner and all MZOs shall be connected the end of June 2022” she said.
