IUEA launches emergency technology park as 529 graduate
Emergency Technology Park, a state-of-the-art building designed and set to be engineered by IUEA students. The design of the park was done by IUEA student.
During the International University of East Africa (IUEA) 8th graduation ceremony held on the 25th November 2021 at there Kansanga based campus, 259 graduates completed there studies in various displines with diplomas and degrees.
The them of the CD ceremony was: “Re-thinking University education in the post COVID-19 era”
IUEA on the same occasion unveiled a plan for the new Emergency Technology Park, a state-of-the-art building designed and set to be engineered by IUEA students.
The design of the park according to Vice Chancellor Professor Emeika Akaezuwa was done by IUEA student.
The IUEA 8th graduation ceremony which was both physical and virtual was officiated by the Chairperson University Council Ambassador Moses Kiwe Sebunya.
The Guest Speaker Prof. Dr. Michael Coach of SRH University while virtually speaking from German highlighted the importance of forming partnerships to enable sharing of knowledge and study materials across institutes.
“The digital age has opened up various opportunity to access global markets through strong partnerships to avail online material” he said.
Atwine Shallot emerged the best overall student with a 4.94 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Atwine pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration from IUEA.
While speaking at the graduation ceremony, the IUEA Vice-Chancellor Dr. Emeka Akaezuwa congratulated the graduands before urging them to reflect a good image for the university outside there.
He urged other Ugandan universities to rethink the future of education in a post-COVID-19 world.
“Much as universities must rethink the future of education in a post COVID world, so too must governments. Universities, both public and private play a significant role in developing a country’s economy and society” he said.
The representative from Ministry of Education and Sports, George Mutekanga while congratulating the graduates applauded IUEA for leading in Technology-based learning and conducting online studies amid the pandemic.
“IUEA’s online teaching has played a big role in the improvement of higher education in the new normal” he said
