Institute for Ecology and Natural Resources sources coffee seedlings to support farmers in Bunyoro region.
The Institute for Ecology and Natural Resources Africa has a target to create a network of 1million coffee farmers and another 1million of Cocoa farmers, we are majorly targeting those with passion for coffee and Cocoa growing, we shall be reaching out to our farmers thru available media channels
With the aim to uplifting the house hold incomes of the farmers in Bunyoro and in line with Uganda's Vision. 2040, the Institute for Ecology and Natural Resources Africa (INSENRA) has received a consignment of Elite Robusta coffee seedlings from the first son Lt. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba and partners to support the efforts of ensuring that there is improved income in the households of Bunyoro sub region.
The coffee seedling were received the Executive Director INSENRA, Allan Bamuha Atwooki in Hoima district on 8th April 2021.
The Executive Director while receiving the coffee seedling highlighted that the project has a target to create a farmers network of over 1 Million coffee and Cocoa farmers through media sensitization and other means of community engements.
“Under Institute for Ecology and Natural Resources today we have received support of coffee seedlings of Elite Robusta coffee, the support came from Lt.Gen.Muhoozi Kainerugaba and his friends. In Runyoro, The Institute for Ecology and Natural Resources Africa has a target to create a network of 1million coffee farmers and another 1million of Cocoa farmers, we are majorly targeting those with passion for coffee and Cocoa growing, we shall be reaching out to our farmers thru available media channels” he said
The Executive Director in pictured above applauded the farmers in Bunyoro for the increased passion to grow coffee, cocoa and other perennial crops which he aid with along way in alleviating poverty and I crease hosie hold incomes.
The Institute for Ecology and Natural Resources Africa is a non-government organisation based in Hoima with a liaison office in Kampala. It was established to support farmers in Bunyoro region growing different crops including coffee, Cocoa among others through multiplication of different varieties of cash crops that have high yields and ready markets.
