Hon. Joseph Mukasa Announces 2026 MP Bid for Makindye-Sabagabo

Hon. Joseph Mukasa has officially declared his intention to run for Member of Parliament for Makindye-Sabagabo Municipality in the 2026 elections. He will contest under the National Unity Platform (NUP) with the slogan: “People First, Service, Equity and Transformation.” His announcement has brought excitement and hope to many in the community.

Joseph Mukasa is not new to the people of Makindye-Sabagabo. For over 20 years, he has worked closely with the community, listening to their needs and helping them where he can. He understands the daily struggles people face—bad roads, joblessness among the youth, poor health care, and lack of quality education. He has seen firsthand the hardship of mothers walking long distances to clinics without medicine, and young people who have skills but no jobs. These are real issues he has been addressing for years.

As the Executive Director of HELP Uganda, Mukasa has trained thousands of youth and women in practical skills such as tailoring, baking, and hairdressing. These programs have helped many families escape poverty. He has also worked with international organizations like USAID, CDC, and the World Bank, showing his ability to manage serious development work.

In his campaign, Hon. Mukasa promises to improve roads, drainage systems, and public services. He plans to hold regular town hall meetings so that people can share their views and help shape local decisions. He also wants to focus on youth and women empowerment, better education, and a clean, safe environment.

Joseph Mukasa describes himself as a servant leader. He is someone who listens, understands, and takes action.

This is not his first time in politics. He contested for the same seat between 2011 and 2016. Even though he didn’t win, he didn’t give up on the people. He continued serving through Rotary and his NGO, and his impact is visible throughout the community.

He says, “Makindye-Sabagabo deserves dignity, fairness, and true change. I want to be your voice in Parliament. Together, we can build a better future.”

Hon. Mukasa has promised to remain honest, transparent, and available to the people. He stands firmly against corruption, injustice, and vote-buying.

The people are ready. The time for change is now.
