Agro-Chemical dealers equipped with business skills as Rainbow Agro science officially launches operations in Uganda market.
Rainbow Agro Science a crop protection company manufacturing agrochemicals for disease, pest, and weed control, convened all their agrochemical dealers in Uganda for a business summit in Kampala to highlight various business tips, terms and conditions on which their partnership operates, including marketing skills, financial literacy, credit terms among other business issues.
The business summit held at Nob View Hotel in Kampala on Monday 5th February 2023, attracted agrochemical dealers from various regions of Uganda including Mbarara, Bukomansimbi, West Nile, Toro region among others.
The General Manager Raibow Agro Science, Atul Lanjulkar in above picture said that while their company is ranked 11th agrochemical firm, Rainbow Agro science started operations in 2022 in Uganda to grow the farmers and along the value chains through importing products directly supplied to dealers.
He said that the business summit which attracted over 80 dealers in Uganda were equipped to avoid confusion about genuine agrochemical products on the market.
“Rainbow Agro science has officially launched in Uganda. It’s ranked 11th Agro chemical manufacturer. We want to provide complete protection to farmers by supplying dealers with genuine products. We have shared ideas with our dealers in this business summit to sell our products” he said
Fred Muziira, The Senior Agriculture Inspector, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industries and Fisheries (MAAIF) pictured above, who officiated at the business summit, noted that with the ministry’s focus on agro-industrialization for Uganda, there is need to increase production and productivity through research to ensure varieties that enhance it couped with business ethics and integrity of the agrochemical dealers and regulation.
“We are building a system to track agrochemicals produce in Uganda to ascertain quantities imported, produced which will be uploaded on the distribution network,” he said
He said that the new regulation will require manufacturers to file into the online distribution network for monitoring purposes while urging dealers to provide information to farmers on farm inputs.
“If Rainbow imports 2,000 products on the import permit to deliver to 200 dealers in Uganda, MAAIF will monitor stock. Farmers need to receive right information on agrochemicals;” he said
He urged agrochemical dealers to register with MAAIF to avoid consequences, work for the good of the farmers and avoid collapsing their business while calling upon dealers o tap into the Parish Development Model funds to benefit as farm groups.
