Embark on Your Day at Maple Leaf Kingsley International School: Ready, Set, Learn!

Hey there!

Ever wondered what a typical day is like for students at Kingsley? We’ll walk you through it—from the moment we arrive to when we head home, every day here is full of fun learning!

Morning Routine

Let’s get back to Kingsley!

When my friends and I arrive at school, the campus is ALWAYS buzzing with energy.

It’s always exciting to meet up with friends! And coming to school feels great when the teachers greet us warmly. It’s a welcoming start to the day that helps us feel ready for what’s ahead.

Next, we jump straight to class!

Homeroom time is a pivotal part of our morning routine. As we gather in our homeroom classes, it’s more than just a time to settle in; it’s a space where we set the tone for the day. Our homeroom teachers guide us through setting personal and academic goals, ensuring we start our day with clear intentions. This is also a time for important announcements and updates, keeping us informed about school events and activities. Team-building  activities are the best part. Sprinkle in with short discussions about current events or topics of interest, whether it’s personal, local or issues around the world. This fosters a sense of community and belonging, making us feel more connected to each other and the school.

In essence, homeroom time at Kingsley is not just about preparation for academic lessons but also about nurturing our social and emotional wellbeing. It’s a positive way to begin our learning journey, ensuring the day is tackled with mentally and emotionally prepared teens!

Lessons

Math doesn’t just exist in books, it exists everywhere if you can just see it!

At Kingsley, we follow the Cambridge curriculum, which is known for its high standards. Many universities accept the certificate for entry, and What’s great is how lessons are designed with us in mind. We get to be active participants in our learning—whether it’s through discussions, hands-on activities, or exploring topics that interest us. This makes learning engaging and meaningful for everyone, even the shy ones!

Holistic Learning Experience

Beyond academics, Kingsley cares about our overall development. We are constantly encouraged to pursue our passions through personalised learning plans that fit our strengths and interests. This approach helps us grow not just academically but also as individuals ready to face the world.

Breeeaaak Time!

Lunchtime is a chance for us to take a much needed break and socialise with friends. The cafeteria is always so lively with laughter and conversation. Sometimes, we sit with friends, and sometimes with teachers. The school makes sure the food we eat are delicious and nutritious so we can stay focused and healthy throughout the day. We can choose from local delights to continental, whatever we like.

Mix media and photography? Definitely one of the best ways of self-expression

After lunch, we dive into extracurricular activities that the school offers. There’s something for everyone—from sports and music to drama and robotics. These activities help us discover new talents, build friendships, and gain confidence outside the classroom. The crowd favourite is possibly Horse Riding; after all, who doesn’t like horses?!

Excursions

One of the most exciting parts of our education is the Learning Journeys programme. These trips take us to museums, science centres, and other places where we can see what we’ve learned in action. It’s a hands-on way to understand our lessons better, integrate them into the mind and gain personal insight into how the lessons are applied in real-life.

Student-Centric Approach

At Kingsley, they understand that every student learns differently. They support us in finding the best way to learn, throught the Multiple Intelligences approach; whether it’s through visuals, music and dancing, group projects, or other methods. We are also encouraged to socialise and work together, which helps us grow both academically and personally.

Peers, Teachers and Friendships

Let’s dance, dance, dance with our hands, hands, hands!

The student-teacher bond is a bond like no other. Our teachers at Kingsley are not just educators—they’re mentors who care about our success. They take the time to get to know us and support our dreams. This strong bond helps us feel confident and motivated to achieve our goals. We’re lucky to have not only our peers to support us, but the friendship of our teachers as well!

Cambridge Curriculum Specifics

Through the Cambridge curriculum, we study core subjects like Math and Science, as well as subjects that interest us. This prepares us for future studies and opens doors to universities around the world.

After School

Is this truly the end of the day?

After classes, it’s important to summarise the lessons learned. We reflect on what we’ve absorbed and prepare for the next day. Kingsley encourages us to balance our schoolwork with activities we enjoy, which helps us stay happy and healthy.

Unique Aspects of Maple Leaf KIS

What makes Kingsley special are traditions like the 24 Festive Drums, where we celebrate the local culture and traditions together. They also encourage us to give back to our community through service projects, teaching us to be responsible global citizens.
