Uganda set to host the East Africa Food & Beverages Expo in January 2025

Uganda is set to host the biggest two-day East Africa Food Beverages Expo scheduled to be held on 29-31 January 2025 at Old Kampala Secondary School under the leadership of Alconext a network of commercial offices installed in more than 50 countries on the 5 continents, dedicated to representing abroad the brands of each country.

According to organizers of the Sponsorship & Exhibition is open to industry food and industry players while proudly aligning it with the government's initiatives of solidifying Uganda’s reputation as a premier Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) destination.

The Country Representative, Amb. Patrick Nsubuga during the launch of the expo said that it will offer exhibitors a dynamic environment to introduce new products and expand networks within the food and beverage sectors.

In previous editions, international and regional manufacturers and distributors have leveraged the East Africa Food and Foods Expo to advance their business objectives and gain significant benefits with participants spanning from a wide range of industries.

Participants accoring to the organisers can now register sponsor or exbihit. They have also created a platform known as "Investors Hub Portal" for those interested in expoting their products or access funding.

"We have as well created a platform called Investors Hub portal to support all those interested to have export market for their products and also funding we are supporting them" Amb. Patrick said

The East Africa Food & Beverages Expo is the first full-scale multi-sector comprehensive global showcase of products and services officially hosted by Alconext

The Expo is a gateway for EAC member states to the growing food & beverages market that will gather the industry’s highest quality products and services.

“This is an accomplished platform to showcase the latest developments in the global F&B market and highlight industry challenges such as regulation, standardization, and compliance” Amb Patrick said

Among the partners of the Expo is K-Roma Limited the producers of a various of beverages including; Belle Hibiscus drinks, and Bella wine, among others.

In a recent tour to Bella Wine by Hala Research Council CEO Mr Mughail Zubair Muhamed from UAE, K-Roma Limited welcomed the Halal Research Council CEO to Explore Export Opportunities for Bella Hibiscus Drinks.  

Mrs. Prudence Ukkonika, the visionary female entrepreneur behind K-Roma Limited, showcased the company's commitment to quality and innovation in producing hibiscus drinks that meet international standards.

The visit by Mr. Mughal emphasized the potential for Ugandan manufacturers in the food and beverage sector to embrace halal certification, thereby opening doors to new markets and driving growth

This collaboration according to Mrs. Prudence presents a significant opportunity for other Ugandan manufacturers to expand their reach globally, contributing to the country's economic development.

“The visit not only highlights the growing interest in Ugandan products but also reinforces the importance of adopting global best practices to enhance competitiveness in the international market” she said.

She said that the visit was marked by insightful discussions on the importance of halal certification in the food and beverage industry, especially for manufacturers looking to tap into lucrative export markets in Asia, including the UAE, Malaysia, and other countries.

Mrs Prudence is one of the first Uganda entrepreneurs to start exporting juice products to Arab countries after being awarded Halal Research Council Certification by the Halal Research Council from Dubai.
