As the Nakivubo Redevelopment Project nears completion, Businessman Ham Kiggundu behind its construction has said that the redevelopment is not just a sports project but a legacy for Uganda.

He said this as he shared images and videos of the status of the works at the Nakivubo war memorial stadium situated in the heart of Kampala.

“Nakivubo Redevelopment Project is not just a sports project, this is a legacy. If I can , you too can do more to make Uganda a successful country with Reason. Completion of Nakivubo Stadium with God's blessings as a constant factor will stand as a clear illustration to all my fellow countrymen and women that yes, we can develop Uganda locally collectively and proudly as Ugandans. Let’s drop the negativity and focus on substance”, he said.

Ham attributed the delay in the completion of the works pictured above due to COVID-19 interruptions and big changes in the cost of construction materials.

"COVID-19 was also a major setback, delaying us by almost three years, denting our cash flow, in addition to raising the cost of production. Because of the rise in the cost of production, for a stadium, I estimated to spend around 50 million dollars, I could end up spending around 150 million because of the price increase of construction material” he said

The stadium has been closed to the public since 2015 owing to the construction works overseen by Ham. Based on the project design, the stadium was meant to be completed in a period of three years.

Meanwhile, other popular projects that Ham is undertaking include the publication of various economically empowering books, the mega Ham Agro Processing industries among others.

The books including “Success and Failure Based on reason and “Reason as the World’s Masterpiece” has been already been approved by National Curriculum Development Centre as pictured above.

“Both my books were approved by the National Curriculum Development Centre "Success and Failure Based on Reason and Reality" and "Reason as the World's Masterpiece” For God and my country,” he said

He recently hosted the Minister of Finance, Planning and economic development Hon. Matia Kasaija at the Headquarters of Ham agro-processing industries. The minister commended Ham for his contribution to the economic growth of the country.

“It was with pleasure hosting Hon. Matia Kasaija, Minister of Finance Planning and Economic Development at our newly built Ham Agro-Processing Industries headquarters. A replica of such is to be built in each region of Uganda and a mega agro-produce storage facility is to be built on the shores of Lake Victoria in Jinja. All that to be up n running by 2025” he sated
