Kampala International University (KIU) held the 26th Graduation ceremony at the Kansanga campus on Saturday 12th November 2022 where over 2,288 completed their studies in different disciplines including 6 Doctorate Degrees, 143 Masters Degrees, and 78 Post Graduate Diplomas among others.

Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, Deputy Speaker of Parliament who was the Chief Guest at the ceremony while recognizing the big heart of the Chairman of Board of trustees Al-Hajji Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba applauded the university’s bursary scheme which he said has benefited many Ugandans who are now serving in different capacities.

"In a special way, I want to recognize the Chairman Board of Trustees of KIU, Hon. Al-Hajj Dr. Hassan Basajjabalaba, who has a big heart for people of all walks. If one just considers the number of bursary beneficiaries that have been awarded through his kind hands and heart, he qualifies to be a parent to very many individuals, who to date are serving their countries in different aspects, while others are pursuing different academic programmes at KIU" he said

The Vice-Chancellor, KIU Prof. Mouhamad Mpeza in above picture said that the university has added on the new programme while investing in teaching, research, and innovation facilities, laboratories, and other facilities.

"The Board of Trustees continues to invest in the teaching, research and innovation facilities, state-of-the-art laboratories, and now a modern Campus Library, the construction of which is near completion. The newly added programs include a PhD in Medicine, Economics, Applied Statistics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics, among others” he said

Prof. Fred Wabwire-Mangen, Chairperson KIU University Council said that KIU will continue to ensure job creation in the country through it's centre of excellence for research and entrepreneurship.

"We will ensure that KIU contributes to creating jobs in the country, through its Centre of Excellence for Innovation and Entrepreneurship"
