Zanie Brown reveals TV presenter demanded sex for playing her music
Zanie Brown has spoken out about the harsh realities faced by female artists in the entertainment industry, revealing a personal experience where a TV presenter demanded “some” from her in exchange for playing her music.
During a TV interview, Zanie revealed;
A certain presenter told me for him to play my song, I have to give him some. And when I didn’t give him, he started abusing me on TV saying I show off. But good enough, right now we are friends.”
She went on to emphasise that these types of requests are real and happening, urging both fans and stakeholders not to turn a blind eye.
Beyond this incident, Zanie Brown also addressed the bullying and criticism that new artists face, often from more established names in the business.
Whenever you find people criticising that, ‘that girl has bad manners,’ this and that, you just know there’s something they didn’t get from them and resorted to criticism and abuse.
