Wakiso Giants sink further after loss to BUL

If Wakiso Giants still had hopes of beating the relegation monster, the loss to BUL FC on Saturday at Kabaka Kyabaggu must have felt like a huge blow.

Relegation is indeed now a reality for the Purple Sharks with five games to play and may need to be nearly-perfect going forward if the dream is to become a reality.

On Saturday, despite putting up a spirited fight at home, BUL FC was able to pick maximum points winning 2-0.

The Eastern Giants who came into this game on the back of elimination from Uganda Cup by Kitara, did well to claim all three points.

Defender Najib Fesali and winger Ibrahim Orit scored a goal each for BUL FC while Hudson Mbalire got the consolation for the home side.

Fesali jumped high to node home from Jeromy Kirya’s free kick in the seventh minute and thus fire the visitors into an early lead.

The lead however lasted only three minutes with Wakiso Giants finding the equalizer through lanky forward Mbalire.

In the 43rd minute, BUL FC nearly regained their lead through Reagan Kalyowa but he saw his effort agonizingly rattle the goal frame.

It was Orit who got BUL FC up again, tucking home ten minutes after the mandatory break and this eventually turned out to be the winner.

The result meant BUL FC remained third on the log with 46 points while Wakiso Giants stay put in 14th place on 19 points.
