Vipers SC captain Karisa warns of tough match against Maroons

Vipers SC captain Milton Karisa has warned his teammates to expect a tough outing when his side visit Maroons at Luzira on Thursday.

The Venoms are now focused on the league after triumphing in the Uganda Cup quarter final 1-0 over SC Villa.

Karisa, scorer of the winner against the Jogoos knows it will be tough against a side that held them twice last season as they lost the title to reigning champions SC Villa.

“It is going to be a tough game. We didn’t beat them their last season,” said Karisa. “But we are very determined to go there and pick maximum points,” he added.

“Everyone is pumped up after the Villa win. We need to stay focused and aim to thrive on our bond. Our togetherness as unit will be key.”

The hosts, on 56 points are five points ahead of second placed NEC who they beat 3-1 in the last league game and will open an eight-point gap with a win.

Maroons come into the game on the back of a disappointing defeat to UPDF 2-1 in Bombo and will want to react.

They did lose to Vipers 1-0 thanks to Yunus Sentamu goal and are winless in the past 12 league meetings.
