USPA set to identify and reward the best sports journalists

In a bid to recognize the best practitioners in the field of sports journalism, the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) have inaugurated the USPA Media Excellence Awards, an event that has been in the planning room for some time.

It will be the first of its kind and one that will accommodate various sports media personalities from eight different categories to participate in this inaugural edition with the ceremony itself set to be held in December this year.

“As an association for sports journalists, we are committed to improving the standards of the industry in the country,” USPA president Patrick Kanyomozi highlighted in a press release on Wednesday, October 20.

“The awards are therefore a great opportunity for sports journalists to showcase their work and also be recognized for their exceptional effort in delivering sports information.”

“USPA believes the awards will strengthen the association’s objective of developing the sports media sector,” he added.
