Uganda Badminton Association endorses Ug.Shs 1.6 Billion budget as Nakamya embarks upon second term

The Uganda Badminton Association (UBA) held a tranquil elective assembly at Kampala Club Limited in Kampala on Holy Saturday.

During this assembly, the executive committee that will govern this sport for a four- year period was confirmed under the supervision of the returning officer, Joseph Collins Ssemanda.

James Kasumba, observed this assembly on behalf of National Council of Sports (NCS).

Annet Nakamya bounced back as the president for a second term in office.

Nakamya was unopposed and so, the rest of the executive committee members.

Hajji Ali Serugo is first vice president. Ivan Kirimunda the general secretary.

Joshua Muguluma is the assistant general secretary. Hajji Jamir Buwembo, the treasurer.

There are four executive committee board members; Davis Karasani Arinaitwe, Gilbert Ofoyuru, Steven Mubaya and Joseph Kamagala.

Meanwhile, the budget passed for the year is Ug.Shs 1.6 billion meant to ensure the smooth operation of the association activities and programs.

Two new members including CFK Badminton club and Mwesigwa badminton club were admitted.

I would like to thank you upon entrusting me for second term with the top seat following successful nominations. As the entire board, we are looking forward to working with all of you as we take sports made in Uganda forward. We welcome an open dialogue and we’ll keep the doors of UBA open because we welcome all kinds of ideas and together we will move the sport forward. We must work towards actualization of the dreams because we are athletes all there for the athletes and we need to work in that direction.

Nakamya was first elected as UBA president on 19^th January 2021 when she succeeded the late Shaban Muziransa who perished during a road accident in October 2020.
