UCU Lady Canons secured a well-deserved 56-38 victory against the UPDF Lady Tomahawks in the National Basketball League at Abja Park, Nalya.
Zoe Atek’s layup capped off the opening period, allowing the UCU Lady Canons to take a 10-point lead entering the second quarter.
Despite a strong effort from the Lady Tomahawks, the Lady Canons maintained their 10-point advantage heading into halftime.
After the break, the Lady Canons expanded their lead to 19 points by holding the Lady Tomahawks to just eight points in the third quarter.
In the end, the Lady Canons clinched a convincing 18-point victory.
Only Sarah Namale scored in double digits for the Lady Canons, contributing 10 points.
Dorah Nakijjoba and Patricia Nakiru both scored 12 points in their losing effort for the Lady Tomahawks.
