UCU Canons secured a commanding 74-60 win over Livingstone in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Wednesday.
The Canons started strong with an 8-0 run, but Livingstone responded, trimming the lead to just one point by the end of the first quarter (14-13).
In the second quarter, UCU tightened their defence, limiting Livingstone to only eight points and taking a 10-point lead into halftime.
The Canons continued to dominate after the break. A layup by Diopa Durocher Lukusa ended the third quarter with UCU leading by 20 points (56-36).
With the game in control, UCU’s coaching staff rotated the squad, giving valuable minutes to emerging talents.
Carl Loum’s layup sealed the one-sided contest as the Canons cruised to a 14-point victory.
Marvin Okurut led the way for UCU with 21 points, while Jonathan Kasilimbi added 10.
Akris Ainomugisha scored 12 points, with Oscar Byomuhangi and Diopa Durocher Lukusa contributing 11 points each for Livingstone.
