Ten-man Police held to third successive draw of the season

Newly promoted Police FC are yet to find the right footing in the new StarTimes Uganda Premier League, following a third successive draw.

The Cops yet again were held to a draw by Soltilo Bright Stars FC on Tuesday to make it three stalemates in as many games this season.

In their opening game of the season, Police FC played out a goalless draw against BUL FC before visiting Mbarara City FC, a game which also ended goalless.

Today against Bright Stars FC, the Cops took the lead through lanky forward Isaac ‘Falcao’ Ogwang in the 34th minute when Dennis Kalanzi set him up.

Bright Stars were able to level matters in the 71st minute with Noordin Bunjo capitalizing from a rebounding ball.

Ashraf Mulindi did the donkey work on the wing before weighing in a telling cross that was spilled by goalkeeper Edward Kasibante only to land into the path of Bunjo.

With eight minutes left on the clock, Police were reduced to ten players with Allan Bukenya sent for a second bookable offence on Bunjo. This is the second red card for the Cops this season, with Gerald Ogwet sent off in the first game against BUL FC.

The result leaves Police FC in 9th place on 3 points while Soltilo Bright Stars are 13th on 2 points.

Police will return to action next week on Thursday with a trip to Kitara while Soltilo Bright Stars will take on face KCCA FC in Lugogo on Tuesday next week.
