St Mary’s Kitende dismantle rivals Kibuli SS to storm semifinals | 2025 USSSA Boys’ Football

2025 USSSA Boys’ football (Quarter finals):

• St Mary’s Kitende 3-0 Kibuli SS
• Buddo SS 1-0 Uganda Marytrs Lubaga
• Kyadondo SS 1 (8) – 1 (9) Bukedea Comprehensive School
• Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) 1-0 Mentor SS

St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School will face Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) in the semi-final of the 2025 USSSA Boys football on Tuesday, 13^th May.

This followed a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Kibuli SS in the third quarter final at Ngora High School playground.

Claude Wakenge, Dennis Kisiriko and Arafaat Nkoola scored the goals for St Mary’s Kitende.

Wakenge gave the Wakiso zone based school with a well struck penalty in the 12^th minute as they took a 1-0 lead by the break.

The penalty, strongly questioned by the Kibuli SS players was awarded following the collision of the goalkeeper with Wakenge.

Kisiriko then scored the second via an explicit finish inside the goal area 10 minutes into the second half.

Nkoola killed off the game with a brilliant header in 69^th minute for the third goal.

Meanwhile, Buddo SS, another Wakiso zone school edged Kampala zonal champions Uganda Martyrs High School 1-0 in the last quarter final.

Earlier in the morning, JIPRA ejected Mentor SS from Lira 1-0 with team captain Richard Okello as the goal scorer.

Teso zone’s Bukedea Comprehensive School also overcame Kyadondo SS from Wakiso zone 8-7 in post-match penalties.

Normal time of this interesting contest had ended 1-goal apiece.

The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday, 13^th May 2025 ahead of the final show-down the following day.

Over 1600 players featured in this championship organized by the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA).

All the 64 schools received two sets of jerseys from the organizers.
