South Sudan names U-20 final team | AFCON U-20

South Sudan has named the final team for the 2023 AFCON U-20 tournament due in Egypt.

The squad has familiar faces as Royal Giants Mityana striker Peter Santos Aparer Chut, former Express midfielder Ochaya Okot Oywak Otim among others.

Midfielder Thomas Muyuci Feni Ogaman will skipper the side deputized by Ochaya.

“We have had good preparations at home. The players are set to ably represent our dear country. Personally, I am determined 100 percent for the work task ahead of me” Ochaya revealed to Kawowo Sports.

This followed a month of intensive training in the capital city, Juba.

South Sudan U-20 team before boarding to Egypt

The team of 26 players and 10 officials left for Cairo aboard Egypt Air on Monday, 6th February 2022.

They are expected to acclimatize to the winter-like conditions for the remaining ten days before the tournament officially kicks off.

Hosts Egypt are pooled in group A with Mozambique, Senegal and Nigeria.

In group C, there is The Gambia, Tunisia, Benin and Zambia.
