Shakib opens up about long-distance love with Zari: “I can’t go a week without seeing her”

Despite the miles between them, love continues to thrive between Shakib and Zari Hassan. While Shakib is currently based in Kampala for work, Zari lives in South Africa with her five children, but that hasn’t stopped the couple from keeping their romance alive.

In an interview with Galaxy TV, Shakib revealed just how committed he is to making their relationship work, even across borders.

“Whenever I miss Zari, I fly straight to South Africa,” he shared, confirming that he can’t go a week without seeing the woman he loves.

The couple is managing what’s essentially a long-distance relationship, but Shakib says they’ve figured out a system that works for both of them.

Remember, I also have South African citizenship. When I go there, she has her own apartments, but it’s my responsibility to rent a house if I want, though that doesn’t make sense either.

Zari’s massive mansion in South Africa provides a comfortable home base for their time together. According to Shakib, there’s no need to stay in a hotel when he visits.

I’m able to live there too, so we just stay together in her house.
