Rivalries defined as Pearl of Africa rally attracts huge entry


The upcoming Pearl of Africa Uganda rally is showing all signs of a thrilling event after the publication of the entry list.

Fifty two (52) crews have been confirmed to register for the 8-10 May event.

The Pearl of Africa is the second round of the Africa rally championship. It will be heading to western Uganda for the first time.

The event will have several categories for contention. The major one being the Africa rally championship category.

13 crews will be eligible to score ARC points and ARC2 categories respectively. 

Kenya’s Karan Patel, Samman Vohra, Hamza Anwar will face off against Uganda’s Yasin Nasser for the coveted ARC points.

While Uganda’s Mike Mukula, Tanzania’s Prince Charles Nyerere, Issa Amwari are among contesting for ARC2 honours.

There will be plenty to fight for in the national rally category as crews continue the search for NRC points in round three of the championship.

Rivalries will continue in the two-wheel drive category and the clubman rally championship. 

Ibrahim Lubega, Sadat Negomba, Edward Kirumira will be among the contestants in the 2WD while Odeon Tumwebaze, Kevin Bebeto, Walter Kabanda will battle it out in the CRC category. 

The Pearl of Africa rally will run for three days starting with the qualifying stage and shakedown on 8 May.

Rally will start proper on Friday with three stages including a super special stage at the Rukaari Resort.
