Reach A Hand, partners to inspire and advocate for girls’ rights in “This Is Brave Girls Festival”
Preparations for the "This is Brave Girls Festival"

Reach A Hand youth-serving organization empowerment programs is organizing yet another festival dubbed “This Is Brave Girls Festival” aimed at bringing females together, speaking up for their rights, and celebrating brave community actions and individuals championing access to sexual reproductive health.

Under the leadership of a Ugandan social entrepreneur, peer educator, founder, and team leader at Reach A Hand, Uganda, Humphrey Nabimanya the event is slated on September 28, 2022, at the International University of East Africa (IUEA), in Kansanga, Kampala

The theme of the festival is: "Celebrating brave community actions and individuals championing acess to SRHR information and services for young woemn girls"

Team Leader, Nabimanya, pictured below, said that the festival is a channel to empower, give a voice, inspire and advocate for the rights of a girl child and seeks to draw solutions to the many challenges faced by girls and women in Uganda.

He called upon school administrators, religious leaders, cultural heads, and young people to join hands with Reach a Hand to make it a successful event.

“The festival will give a platform to girls and women to share and contribute to alleviating the very many challenges that they face. It will also connect them to networks that they can leverage on to create a better environment for them to become who they seek to be,” he said.

According to the organizers, the festival will feature a dance flash mob incorporated with gymnastics with favorite entertainment groups including Kyuka dance group, Free community outreaches, dialogues, girl child exhibitions, and a sports gala among others.

Also included on a festive day are performances from famous artists like Spice Diana, Recho Rey, Carol Kasita, Fille, and several more.

The games in the sports gala will include dodge ball, volleyball, and board games like chess, scrabble, checkers, video games, and monopoly mainly played by girls and boys will participate in supporting roles
