Police dare on form URA, Bright Stars visit Lugazi

Friday April 25, 2025

  • Lugazi vs Soltilo Bright Stars – Najjembe 4pm
  • Police vs URA – Kavumba 4pm
  • NEC vs Mbale Heroes – Lugogo 7pm

URA will be out to extend their winning run to five matches when they visit Police at Kavumba on Friday.

The tax men are the most on form side in the league currently and find a police team fighting to stay up and are unbeaten in normal time since appointing Matia Lule as head coach.

URA won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo with Joseph Ssemujju scoring late in the game and the target now is to seal a double.

Third place is also at stake for Alex Isabirye’s side that sits 4th on the log with 42 points, one behind BUL who play away to Wakiso Giants on Saturday.

Police are winless in the last five meetings with the four-time league winners losing four times.

With 27 points in 12th position, they are not safe yet and want victory to pull away from any relegation fears.

At Lugazi, Soltilo Bright Stars take on hosts Lugazi with the two teams fighting to stay up.

Both teams are in abysmal form with Lugazi having no victory in the last five matches [D2] while Stars have picked one win in the same time [L3, D1].

Bright Stars are second from bottom with 16 points, eight points away from safety positions while Lugazi are 11th with 28 points.

In the late kick off, second placed NEC want to bounce from Vipers defeat by beating Mbale Heroes who they take on at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
