  • Police vs Soltilo Bright Stars – 4pm

After failing to get off the mark in the two matches played so far, Police and Soltilo Bright Stars face off in the Kavumba derby on Tuesday with either seeking to pick their first maximum points.

Police have picked two stalemates so far – all goalless versus BUL and Mbarara City while Bright Stars drew 1-1 with Wakiso Giants and then lost 1-0 at home to URA.

Police coach Simon Peter Mugerwa is wary of his side’s failure to find the back of the net but says works have been done to improve the area.

“In the past two matches, we have done well in the other areas but failed to score,” stated Mugerwa. “Against BUL, one of the most on form sides, we held them despite playing over 65 minutes with a man less and also away to Mbarara, one of the tough grounds to pick a result,’ he added.

“Our preps have been centered around working on the final third and we hope to get the goals against Bright Stars.”

With Gerald Ogweti still out, the onus to look for goals will be on experienced Herman Wasswa, last season’s club top scorer Isaac Ogwang and Brian Obedi.

On the other hand, Joseph Mutyaba, the Bright Stars coach knows the pressure is on him and knows a thing or two about the Cops.

“They (Police) are a tough side to break down but if we convert the chances we create, then we shall win,” he stated.

The visitors could have Fiat Cleophus back in the squad after he missed the last game through injury.

Key Stat:

  • Police are unbeaten against Bright Stars in the last five meetings in all competitions.
