StarTimes Uganda Premier League Champions Express FC will seek to win their first CECAFA Kagame Cup title in history when the tournament gets underway on Sunday, August 1.

Express will be playing at the CECAFA for the first time since 2013, where they reached the quarter-finals of the tournament and were knocked out by APR FC 2-0.

The Red Eagles reached the final of the tournament in 1994 and 1995, eventually losing to Simba SC and Sudan’s El Merriekh respectively.

On Thursday afternoon, a 30-man contingent including 20 players and 10 officials departed from the Entebbe International Airport for Tanzania’s capital Dar-es-Salaam.

Express FC players seemed in high spirits as they boarded the flight.

New signing Joseph Akandwanaho seemed a little busy as he was constantly on the phone taking care of personal business or trying to say his final goodbyes to friends and family.

Midfielder Ivan Mayanja offered to carry the team’s luggage, while defender Arthur Kiggundu wore sunglasses as he made a fashion statement while taking his casual travel to a new level.

Meanwhile, midfielders John Byamukama and Charles Musiige renewed their bromance posing for a couple of photos together, while defender Isa Lumu showed love to the lenses.
