Nina Roz’s political ambitions hinge on NUP party primaries

Nina Roz, real name Nina Kankunda, says she wouldn’t go ahead to contest for the Sembabule Woman MP seat if her party, the National Unity Platform, does not give her the party card.
Nina Roz, a musician, officially launched her political bid for the Sembabule Woman MP seat in April, sending out posters asking voters to vote for her in the 2026 elections.
She has since appeared at several social and political gatherings in Sembabule, interacting with the locals to understand the issues they would want her to tackle.
Her endeavours, however, will be determined by the results from the party primaries if she gets the NUP card to contest for the position.
In an interview, Nina Roz noted that if she fails to secure the NUP party card, she will humbly step back and support whoever her party shall have chosen.
She is confident about getting the party card as she commands a lot of respect and support amongst the people.
I have the support of the people on the ground, and that’s a big thing in my party. I know I will be given the party ticket. However, if things go the other way around, I will come back and support the candidate endorsed by the party.
