Nicholas Wadada recalled as Put announces Uganda Cranes squad for June friendlies

Nicholas Wadada has earned a recall to the Uganda Cranes squad as Paul Put announced a squad to face Cameroon and The Gambia in international friendlies.
The two matches will be played in Morocco on June 6 & 9, 2025 as Cranes prepare for CHAN 2025 and the forthcoming Fifa World Cup qualifiers and Afcon 2025.
Wadada, who rejoined Vipers at the start of the season has been pivotal for the Venoms as they clinched the 2024/25 league title and is on the verge of winning the Stanbic Uganda Cup as well.
The right back’s last appearance for Uganda Cranes was in 2021 and has been overlooked over the years especially after moving to Tanzania’s Azam.
His teammates Hilary Mukundane, Allan Okello and Karim Watambala, SC Villa’s duo of Arnold Odong and Patrick Kakande, NEC’s Enock Ssebagala & Hannington Ssebwalunyo, URA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe, KCCA’s Usama Arafat and BUL’s Joel Mutakubwa are the other UPL players on the team.
Ex-U20 stars John Paul Ddembe and Allan Oyirwoth are also part of the squad but there is no place for left back Aziz Kayondo and centre back Halid Lwaliwa.
