NEC leave it late against Mbarara City
NEC FC needed a last-gasp goal to overcome Mbarara City FC as the two teams faced off on Tuesday at Kakyeka Stadium.
The game pitted two teams with divergent targets. Whereas NEC FC still have hopes of winning the League, Mbarara City on the other hand are still engulfed in the relegation mix.
The closely contested game produced limited goal scoring chances especially in the opening half.
It was Allan Mugalu who broke the deadlock ten minutes atfer the break to give NEC the lead.
With the clocking ticking down, the hosts levelled matters in the 84th minute through Seiri Arigumaho.
With the game destined for the end, NEC got the winner deep in stoppage time through defender Jacob Okao.
The result means NEC remain five points behind leaders Vipers who have 62 points. Mbarara City on the other hand remain in 13th place on 23 points, only three above the red zone.
