Daniel Nduva bossed the field during the first round of the 2022-2023 Safar Tour leg at Karen in Nairobi city, Kenya.

The Kenya professional golfer struck 4-under-68 to take command and a stroke advantage coming to day two on Monday, February 6, 2023.

Nduva was phenomenal with three birdies on the front 9 on par-5 hole 3, par-4 hole 4 and par-4 hole 8.

He returned like an hungry lion for the closing 18 holes; scoring a birdie on par-4 hole 12 as well as 2 Eagles on par-5 holes 15 and 18.

The only grey patch were bogie scores on par-4 hole 6 and par-4 hole 13 as well as a double bogie on par-4 hole 10.

Rwanda’s Celestin Nsanzuwera is behind by a stroke after the first 18 holes with 3-under 69 gross.

Six professionals are tied for third position with 2-under-70; C.J Wangai (Kenya), Justus Madoya (Kenya), John Limb (Kenya), Ronald Rugumayo (Uganda), Dismas Indiza (Kenya) and Tony Omuli (Kenya).

Rugumayo opened his round with bogie on par-4 hole 1 before birdie scores on par-5 hole 3, par-4 hole 8, par-4 hole 12 and par-5 hole 18.

His other bogie came on par-3 hole 14 with the rest as par scores.

Missed Day 1 Cut:

Three golfers missed the day one cut. Two of these are amateurs; Isaac Makokha and Daniel Kiragu as well as professional Emille Nshimyumuremy.

The golfers will swing off for the day two on Monday, February 6, 2023 to make 18 holes and the cut heading to the third and fourth rounds.

After the Karen leg, the golfers will switch to Muthaiga a week later (11th – 15th  February 2023) before the prestigious Magical Kenya Open (9th  – 12th  March 2023).
