Marcus Kwikiriza eyes Rukungiri Municipality seat for 2026 elections

Media personality Marcus Kwikiriza has revealed that he is considering joining the political arena by contesting for the Rukungiri Municipality parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2026 elections.
Kwikiriza, who currently serves as the CEO of the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA), made the announcement in a post on X.
I am seriously toying with the idea of putting my hat in the race for the 12th Parliament. Rukungiri.
His interest in representing Rukungiri comes from concerns about the area’s underdevelopment despite its vast potential.
In an earlier thread, Kwikiriza expressed frustration over the slow pace of progress in the district.
Rukungiri has a lot of potential but I noticed we are one of the least developed districts. No known school or university, no decent hotel, the medical services are okay but can do a lot better. We aren’t even known for a particular crop we grow as uniquely ours.
