Maganjo School Nursing and Midwifery a fully registered and Licensed Training Institution for Nurses and Midwives by the Uganda Ministry of Education and Sports is set to hold an academic and entrepreneur seminar that will hot over 400 students and practitioners in areas of nursing, midwifery, and, entrepreneurship.

The event will be held at their campus located in Mawu, Maganjo Trading Centre off Bombo road in Wakiso district.

During a visit to the school at the top of the Maganjo overlooking the neighboring Kagoma areas, its evident that the school has set up state-of-art equipment, library, laboratories, dormitories, lecture rooms, and others that are fit for the modern nursing and midwifery student pursuing a carrier in a friendly environment.

While talking to Mulani Ramathan, the school’s Accountant he explained that the forthcoming academic seminar is going to pull students in the central region of Uganda which he said will be hosted at the school campus below for the entire training.

He said that while the school trains nursing and midwifery students, the process continues until the student is verified, certified, and examined by the relevant bodies including Uganda Nurses and Midwifery Council, and the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board (UNMEB) a semi-autonomous Government body objective of streamlining, regulating and coordinating examinations and awards for Nurses and Midwives in Uganda.

“We are going to have an academic and entrepreneur seminar for the central region, and over 400 students are expected to attend. We train the students, but they have to be subjected to verification and are examined by the relevant authorities, like Uganda Nurses and Midwives Examinations Board which examines them,” he said

Mr Mulani added that the school has arrangements for flexible school fees payments for parents which makes it easier to cooperate with them including fair school fees which included meals, accommodation, and other administration costs some of which he says are paid once at the beginning of the semester. He also said for some parents facing difficulty in paying there are arrangements for in-kind payment.

He said, unlike other courses, the Nursing course of 2.5 years at the school is strict that requires a process recognized by all authority bodies to qualify students, and placement for hands-on training in health facilities like in the above training facility in the school labaratories.

“Our students must have a log book and must get enrolled in one the health facilities that we cooperate with in Uganda. These includes hospitals in Kayunga, Kasansa, Kiryandongo, kasangati,  among others” he said

The registration for next in according to the Accountant is going on at the campus and other regional coordinators across Uganda which he says to start in August 2022.
