Legendary kickboxer Golola feted, as World Cup bound Bogere receives second real star award


Uganda’s Kickboxing legend Moses “Of Uganda” Golola has been recognized with a life time achiever’s award by the management of Real Stars Sports Agency.
Golola was donned in the traditional bark cloth attire received his award at Lazio restaurant in Kololo on Tuesday, 13th May 2025.
Best known for his strong jabs and kicks during bouts, Golola is also popular for his motor-mouth that has helped market the kickboxing sport and his personal brand as he has won a couple of endorsement deals including the cultural tourism role.
“It is sad that people that put much efforts into sports are not recognized by the Government. The Government must come up and support companies like Fortebet and Jude Colours solutions may be through tax waivering. We are representing the nation, therefore the government must prioritize us, It is sad to see government giving 100 of millions to politicians as a token of appreciation for the bills passed yet they add little towards the development of the country” Golola pleaded as he received the plaque from Isaac Mukasa, the executive director of Real Stars Sports Agency.

Different sports personalities were also rewarded for the excellence during the month of April 2025.
Lydia Namabiro (Rugby), Eunice Awori (Kabaddi) and James Bogere (football) were all appreciated with plaques which are accompanied by a cash reward of Ug.Shs 500,000 each.
Football:
Uganda U-17 national team player James Bogere won the football accolade.
Bogere scored three goals, the second-best number during the Africa Under 17 World cup qualifiers in Morocco as Uganda Cubs made it to the first ever World Cup.
He beat off competition from Umar Kasumba (Police Football Club) and Samuel Ssekamatte Kayongo (UPDF Football Club) who scored four goals during the StarTimes Uganda Premier league in April.
Rugby:
Lydia Namabiro shone as the Uganda Lady cranes accomplished the mission to Africa Rugby tier one division with a six tries’ contribution.
This was her third accolade from Fortebet Real Stars sports monthly awards beating off competition from teammate Peace Lekuru and William Nkore.
Kabaddi:
Eunice Awori of the Uganda female Kabaddi national team guided Uganda to the the Africa Women’s cup, qualifying for the treasured World cup.
Awori was considered ahead of teammates Olivia Nalubega and Nahia Nalwoga.
These awards have been held since 2018 under the sponsorship of betting firm; Fortebet and Jude Colour Solutions.
The awarding ceremony was also graced by Alex Muhangi, ambassador of Fortebet and Henry Zzimbe (promotions and marketing officer of Jude Colour solutions) and Isaac Mukasa (Executive director of Real Stars Sports Agency).
