From Rutooma – Bwizibwera, a virtually unknown village in Western Uganda city of Mbarara was born a football talent Dickson “Dickov” Igga.
Igga grew up in Rutooma, lived and studied there from infantry until his entire adult life.
At 33 years, Igga left Uganda for his dream destination, the United States of America where he is currently employed by Isthmus City Football Club, an entity in the United Soccer Premier League (USPL) after signing a two-year deal.
He boldly tags the move to USA as a dream realized when he left Uganda in late September 2022.
“It was a big dream accomplished” the right back-cum-center half relinquishes.
“I want to help the team (Isthmus City FC) to win the league, represent Uganda here (in USA), motivate youth to engage in sports and keep believing.” He adds.

Igga was birthed as the first-born child on 18th August 1989 to Gordon Baiga and Winfred Kyohairwe (now both deceased) in Rutooma, Bwizibwera – Mbarara city.
He studied at Rutooma Secondary school for O-Level and then moved to Bishop McAllister College Kyogyera.
At Bishop McAllister College – Kyogyera, he was part of the team that competed at the 2011 national Copa Coca Cola championships in West Nile region (Arua city).
Igga then moved to Bishop Stuart University where he played in the famous Pepsi University Football League (UFL).
Football Career:
Igga featured for a number of regional clubs in Western Uganda ranging from Bushenyi United, Bwizibwera Football, Bwizibwera United, Igongo Sports Club (Captain) and Mbarara Football Club.
He also played in the national beach soccer league with Bishop Stuart University.
Recently, he signed a two-year contract with Isthmus City in the United Soccer Premier League (USPL).
He is expected to face off opposition as Chicago Nation Football club, United Serbian Sports Club, Lake Football Club, Chicago Strikers Football club as he aspires to get the club promoted to the Major League Soccer (MLS).
“The target is working hard to help Isthmus City Football Club get promoted to the United Soccer League in the coming season” Igga noted.
Since he moved to the United States of America (USA), Igga has been acclimatizing to the “harsh” winter and windy weather conditions.
“Due to winter conditions in the US, we have been training indoors and have only trained outside for a couple of days and shall play the first build-up match against Paradigm Football club on Sunday, 19th March 2023” Igga noted.

He yearns to fully utilize the opportunity at Isthmus City Football Club as a stepping-stone to growing in stature as a footballer and possibly launch a post career plan after active service.
Igga is nick-named Dickov after retired Scottish retired forward Paul Dickov who also had successful spells at Arsenal, Manchester City, Leicester City, among others.
His manager-cum-representative Ronnie Santos has a lot of faith and hope in him.
Dickson Igga is hardworking and committed. I am optimistic that he will prosper and succeed. Ronnie Santos, Representative for Dickson Igga
