Kenzo seeks public dialogue with Azawi to resolve political views

UNMF President Eddy Kenzo, has spoken out to clear the air regarding his relationship with Azawi, following public criticism from her in recent months. Despite Azawi’s critical remarks, Kenzo insists there is no bad blood between them.

Azawi has repeatedly called out Kenzo for what she sees as his failure to use his leadership position to advocate for fellow musicians and Ugandans.

In response to questions about a potential feud, Kenzo made it clear that he holds no personal grudge against Azawi.

However, Kenzo expressed concern over Azawi’s recent interview with Douglas Lwanga, in which she made strong political statements.

What bothered me was the way she addressed certain political matters. Some of her opinions come from either bias or a lack of understanding.

Taking action, Kenzo revealed that he contacted Douglas Lwanga immediately after the interview aired, requesting a face-to-face conversation with Azawi. His goal was to engage her in a public discussion where they could challenge each other’s views respectfully.

I realized a personal conversation wouldn’t be enough. I asked for a one-on-one public dialogue so we could correct each other and maybe even learn from one another.

She looked like she had a point, but I believe if we sat down together, she would see my point of view and I see hers as well.
