JT Lady Jaguars’ perfect start to the season came to a dramatic end as they suffered a narrow 68-67 defeat to KCCA Leopards in the National Basketball League at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.

The Jaguars had won four straight games since the start of the campaign but were edged out by a determined KCCA side.

Margaret Bagaala led the Leopards with an impressive double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 rebounds.

Susan Aanyu added 16 points, while Perus Nyamwenge chipped in with 10 points to round out KCCA’s top performers.

On the other end, Sarah Ageno was the standout for the Lady Jaguars, also recording a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Brenda Kayaga scored a game-high 19 points, and Mary Priscillar Nambogo contributed 13 points in the effort.

KCCA Leopards took an early advantage, closing the first quarter with a 16-9 lead, which they extended to 32-25 by halftime.

Nambogo’s layup brought the third quarter to a close with JT Lady Jaguars trailing 46-39.

Despite a strong final-quarter push by the Jaguars, they fell just short, losing by a single point as fans watched nervously from the edge of their seats.

Suudi Ulanga’s side struggled from beyond the arc, converting only 5 of 34 three-point attempts.

In contrast, the Leopards shot more efficiently, making 21 of their 52 attempts from outside the paint.
